W16: 15 DAYS TO GO!

Have you booked your free ticket to W16 yet? In 15 days time, the NEC will open its door once again to the UK’s only woodworking machinery and materials show, W16. The long-standing exhibition will take place from the 2nd – 5th October and will offer you an exclusive opportunity to see new machinery and prototypes in action for the very first time.

The bi-annual event will boast over 11,000 square meters of stand space, including more than 200 of the biggest industry names from the UK and abroad and featuring three brand new interactive zones, specifically designed to aid industry professionals and reward talent.

The Skills for Excellence Zone: Whether you’re looking for a career in the furniture industry or looking at ways to enhance your existing business, the Skills for Excellence Zone is here to help. Working with The British Woodworking Federation, the zone will include savvy career advisers, specialist recruitment agencies and business gurus.

The W Challenge will feature a live, interactive competition that will see college students from across the UK compete to make a piece of furniture over 4 days using machinery from within the industry. Working closely with Didac Training College and AMS the winner will be announced on the final day of the show. Courtesty of Felder, the winner will receive a £500 tooling voucher to spend on Felder tooling and accessories.

Elements of Innovation sponsored by Ney: The dedicated Innovation Zone offers you an opportunity to see the latest products and design concepts to enter the industry. Open to all exhibitors, a winning product will be judged in advance by a panel of industry experts.

The four-day exhibition will also see W16’s sister exhibition and furniture components show, Elements, make its debut in the exhibition world. Open to W16 visitors, the co-located exhibition will showcase the very latest in décors, edgings, decorative hardware and materials for furniture designers, architects and shop fitters.
